Hole 1

Description

The first hole at The Keene Country Club is a short par 5 with a slight dog-leg. Don't let the length fool you. There is a brook that runs through the center of the fairway at various distances from the tee. Club selection is key on this tee shot. A solid tee shot will set you up for a mid-iron lay-up or even a courageous attempt at getting to the green in two. There are two bunkers that guard the front from long approaches and out of bounds just beyond the green if you get too overzealous. Leave yourself 100 yards in on your third for a great shot at an opening birdie.
